Dear MTA Members,
Educator unions and community groups across the country are joining together this May Day, Friday, May 1, also known as International Workers' Day, to demand full funding of our schools and colleges, a reformed healthcare system, protections for immigrant students and families, and fair contracts for all. 
Join us for an MTA member meeting on  to hear from colleagues across the state and learn how we can make May Day 2026 the beginning of a broader movement to put workers, families, and students first. 
We are pleased to share that Jackson Potter of the Chicago Teachers Union will be attending and presenting at our meeting.
